Goal Setting, from the top-down
Setting goals is the best way to give your team clear direction.
Creating aligned goals, starting with your CEO or the leader of the organization, all the way to the frontline individual contributors keeps everyone working on the right things, leading to the success for the whole org.
When done well, goal-setting creates clarity. When done poorly, it creates bureaucracy. The difference is in how you approach it.
Goal-Setting Frameworks
There are plenty of schools of thought on goal setting: SMART, MBO, OKRs, FAST, and more.
I don't think you should get hung up on that.
I recommend starting with simple, clear, measurable goals that will make it obvious what success looks like for your organization and each employee. The framework matters less than the consistency and alignment of how you implement it.
CEO-S
You want a system to facilitate your goal setting throughout your organization. Spreadsheets can work, but they're really hard to maintain when you start adding updates to your goals.
CEO-S is the best system I've seen to do this. Previously, the company was called Khorus, and I worked there for about six and a half years, in several roles across the organization.
CEO-S gives you tools to facilitate a quarterly goal-setting rhythm for the whole organization. And I've seen it work for large companies, small companies, and even just individual departments.
I know the platform inside and out. I've implemented it, trained teams on it, and seen what works and what doesn't. If you're considering CEO-S, I can help you deploy it effectively from day one.
How I Work
I'll start by just getting to know your business a little: your org chart, timelines you're trying to work under, and where you are currently in your goal setting.
We'll get your company goals created first. Or if you're not the CEO but you're wanting goal-setting help for your department, we'll start with your department goals.
Then we'll cascade them down through the organization, ensuring everyone understands how their individual goals connect to the bigger picture.
The goal isn't just to have goals. It's to create a system where people know what success looks like and can see their contribution to it.
Pricing
We'll assess where you are in your goal-setting, put together the timeline that best serves you for getting every employee to create goals, and put together a service agreement from there.
